Mountain Pine Beetle Response Activities Mountain Pine Beetle Epidemic Response Team The Ministry of Community and Rural Development's Mountain Pine Beetle Response Team coordinates the provincial response to the beetle infestation epidemic. Read the fact sheet to learn more about what the Ministry is doing to support communities in the fight against the Mountain Pine Beetle. The provincial response is guided by the MPB Action Plan, which was adopted with the goal to “sustain long-term community, economic and environmental well-being while dealing with the short-term consequences of the epidemic”. The Action Plan guides provincial responses and helps coordinate all levels of government, communities, industries and stakeholder groups working to mitigate these impacts. Investments and actions are being coordinated and delivered by the Province, the Government of Canada, First Nations, regional beetle action coalitions, and stakeholder groups, as guided by the Mountain Pine Beetle Action Plan. The Province is committed to continue working with its partners to mitigate the economic, environmental and social impacts of the mountain pine beetle infestation.
